Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Sparks Thunder Comeback to Level NBA Finals Series 2-2 Against Pacers

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander delivered a stellar fourth-quarter performance to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a crucial 111-104 victory over the Indiana Pacers in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, tying the series at 2-2. Scoring 15 of his 35 points in the final quarter, the NBA MVP helped the Thunder overturn a late deficit to secure the win.

Despite facing tough defense from Indiana, Gilgeous-Alexander found his rhythm late in the game. He hit a pivotal 3-pointer and a pull-up jumper to give Oklahoma City the lead with just over two minutes remaining. He then sealed the win with six free throws in the final minute.

Jalen Williams contributed 27 points, while Chet Holmgren and Alex Caruso added 14 points with 15 rebounds and 20 points off the bench, respectively. Indiana’s Pascal Siakam led his team with 20 points, supported by Tyrese Haliburton’s 18 points and Obi Toppin’s 17 off the bench.

The Pacers had built a 10-point lead late in the third quarter, but Oklahoma City’s resolute defense in the final period ensured they didn’t fall into a 3-1 series hole. Gilgeous-Alexander emphasized the importance of maintaining their desperation in Game 5, as the Thunder chase their first title since relocating to Oklahoma City in 2008.

The game was competitive from the start, with Indiana taking an early lead and both teams exchanging runs. By halftime, Indiana held a narrow 60-57 advantage. However, tensions rose as the game saw multiple flagrant and technical fouls.

In the end, Oklahoma City closed with a 12-1 run, sparked by Gilgeous-Alexander’s efforts. Thunder coach Mark Daigneault praised his star player, while Alex Caruso noted Gilgeous-Alexander’s consistent competitive spirit as a key factor in their success.
